Time to put one of each of these types of lettuce into 6" pots and stand them on a dish for water on a sunny window sill,water them from bottom to keep the foliage clean, then when I fancy a piece of really fresh lettuce on a sandwich,I cut of a few outer leaves from the plant, rinse them under cold water,shake them dry,and add them to the sandwich now THAT is fresh lettuce......................its virtually still breathing !!,
the plant will grow more leaves in their place,its great way to get good no chemical's goodness into you.
